To assist you in getting your event online as quickly as possible, we have put together the steps for some of our favorite resources. This article will cover setting up a Livestream on...

  • Zoom

  • Vimeo

  • Facebook Live

  • YouTube Live

Zoom

Scheduling a webinar from your zoom web portal takes only a few clicks.

Note: You must have a Pro account to live stream a webinar.

  1. Select “Schedule a Webinar”

  2. Go to Webinars > Upcoming Webinars > Schedule a Webinar

  1. Enter webinar details

  2. Set a topic and description

  3. Set a date, time and duration

  4. Make sure “Registration” is not selected. All payments, registration management and the event webpage will be handled through your event registration on RegFox.

  5. Save

Note: When scheduling a Zoom webinar, the checkbox next to "Require Webinar Password" should remain unchecked.

  1. Copy the registration link

  2. Once you’ve scheduled your webinar, scroll down to the “Invitations” tab at the bottom.

  3. Find the Registration link, select link and copy it

  1. Paste Zoom registration link in Digital Access link field

  2. Open your RegFox digital access page

  3. Find the “Livestream or Webinar” link field

  4. Paste your zoom registration link

Vimeo

This is a popular option for livestreaming events that are private. Check out this video for assistance with the entire process from start to finish.

To get started -

  1. Select New Video in the top, left corner

  2. Select Create live event

Use the pop up to add your Event's title, start date and privacy settings. These can also be updated later.

Vimeo allows you to strip away any sharing options as well as limit the video to only work on your TicketSpice page URL. Vimeo also allows you to embed their livechat feature below the video too.

  1. Customize the Viewing privacy to a private link

  2. Set the embed privacy to your specific domain

  3. After customizing your embed settings, use the private embed code to link the live event to your registration page

If you would like to see what this would look like for your attendees, you can do a test on this page.

Facebook Live

Setting up your Facebook live stream allows you to go live instantly as well as schedule your livestream. We suggest for this use using the scheduling option. What we will want to do is grab the embed code for your live stream and paste it into your digital access settings, but Facebook will require you also to send this stream to either your personal timeline or to your facebook page or group (if you have one). We’ll discuss the options further below.

Facebook gives an option to go live now, or schedule it in the future. We recommend you schedule it for the future.

Who To Share To

Decide if you want to share it to your personal timeline or to a page you manage or private group. We give you some pros and cons below.

Set Visibility to Public

Because we want anyone who registers to see your live stream, we need to set the visibility to anyone on or off Facebook.

Grab the Embed Code

In the middle, go to stream settings and the window opens up to show a embed code you can paste into your digital access settings.

Pros and Cons to Personal Timeline vs Brand or Group Page

Facebook gives two different ways for how you can start a live stream.  Each has trade offs depending on how you want to restrict access to the live stream. We’ll give you the options and let you decide which you prefer.

Option 1: Publish To Your Personal Timeline

This would allow anyone who is your friend in your personal facebook account to see your livestream if they visit your timeline while you are live streaming. If you are okay with Aunt Betsy tune in to your livestream this probably is fine, but if you want absolutely none of your friends to get free access, we suggest creating a different personal page identity with no friends or choose to publish to a page or group.

Option 2: Publish To your Brand Page or Group Page

This similarly has the consequence of anyone who likes your page is or part of your group will be able to see your livestream if they visit your page. If you want no one to see your livestream on your brand page, we suggest creating a new brand page or group just for live streaming. You can make it a closed group or simply not promote it. Alternatively you can also make purchasers of your content members of your group and they can watch your content in your digital access section or on facebook.
