FAQs

Can I Create a Special URL that Automatically Enters a Specific Staff or Project on the Page?

Yes, you can create a special URL that can automatically select a specific person or option from the Search and Support field. This can be done through Pre-Fill URLs! Here is how to add this option to your page.

  • From the Pages screen, click the pencil icon under the page that you want to edit

  • On your giving page, click the + icon

  • Select the Text Field option

  • Label the field Source

  • Turn Required to Off

  • Click Advanced Options, and toggle the Invisible field to Yes (with this option, the field will be hidden on the live page, so your donors don't see it)

  • Click Done

  • Click the pencil button on the same text field

  • Click Advanced Options, and note the Reference Key on the field (this reference key will be needed later

  • Click Done

  • Click Save Now in the upper-right corner of your page to save your changes. Click Publish to publish these changes to your live page

  • Click View Published Page to go to your live page

  • Locate your GivingFuel page URL

  • Add ?staffId= to the end of the URL

  • Add the Reference Key to the end of the URL (in our case, the Reference Key is source)

  • Enter the Staff ID you want to populate from the CSV file after the equal sign, and save this URL

Note: The ?staffId= code is case sensitive. The "I" must be entered in upper case, and the "d" must be entered in lower case.

Anytime your donors use the unique link that you just created and saved, the system will automatically populate the Search and Support field with the specific staff or project!
