This article will walk through how to add or edit the way your Donation field displays to donors. You can enable recurring donations, add a way for your donors to add comments and instructions, and ask your donors to cover the processing fees. You even can customize whether you'd like to display suggested donation amounts, allow the donor to enter the amount, or display fixed amounts.

Add a Donation Options Field
Go to the Pages tab from the top main menu, and click View All Pages
Click the pencil icon under the page you want to edit
Hover over your donation page, and click the + icon
If you already have a Donations field, click the pencil icon to edit your current Donations field
Change your Display Options
Once you have added your Donation field, GivingFuel has several different display options that your organization can use to customize your GivingFuel donation page to best suit your organization's preferences. GivingFuel has the option to display your Donations field as suggested amounts, a donor decides field, or fixed amounts.
Suggested Amounts
Suggested amounts allows your organization to add pre-defined donation options from which your donors can choose. Suggested Amounts displays your options as radios or buttons.
Pro Tip: The default amounts listed in the Suggested Amounts field are a guide. By default, GivingFuel will also display an Other field on this display option for donors who would like to donate another amount.
To choose this option, select Selected Amounts on the Donations Field
Enter suggested amounts you would like to offer to your donors
By default, GivingFuel will allow display an Other field for donors who would like to donate another amount
Turn on Show as Buttons if you would like to display your fields as buttons. If this option is turned off, your suggested amounts will appear as radios
Click Done
Click Save Now in the upper-right corner of your page to save your changes. Click Publish to publish these changes to your live page
Donor Decides
With Donor Decides, your donors can type in the donation amount they would like to give on your page. This option displays as an open field.
To choose this option, select Donor Decides on the Donations Field
Click Done
Click Save Now in the upper-right corner of your page to save your changes. Click Publish to publish these changes to your live page
Fixed Amount
Fixed Amount restricts your donors to give the the defined amounts and frequencies that you have added. Because this field restricts your donors, we only recommend using this field when your organization wants to require your donors to give set amounts on the GivingFuel page. If your organization would like to give your donors increased flexibility, use another display option. An example use case might be if you have a specific initiative where you are working to raise $24 per person for24 months so you can set the donation amount and interval.
To choose this option, select Fixed Amount on the Donations Field
Add the Amount and Frequency you would like to require. Add a Note if desired
If you choose a recurring donation frequency, select Unlimited Payments, or Fixed Payments
With Unlimited Payments, a recurring donation will continue to run until the donor requests to stop their recurring donation
With Fixed Payments, a recurring donation will process a fixed number of donations that you set, and then will stop running
When a recurring donation frequency is selected, select whether you would like to allow your donors to start their recurring donation at a later date. To turn this option on, toggle the Show Start Date button to On.
Click the + icon to add another fixed amount option. Click the trash can icon to delete a fixed amount option
Click Done
Click Save Now in the upper-right corner of your page to save your changes. Click Publish to publish these changes to your live page
Enable Recurring Donations
Note: This option appears on the Suggested Amounts and Donor Decides display options.
When a user selects the Fixed Amount display option, the Enable Recurring Donations button does not appear. To enable recurring donations with Fixed Amounts, you must add the desired amount and recurring frequency on at least one of your options.
Toggle the Enable Recurring option to Yes
Select the recurring interval you would like to offer to your donors.
If you would like to offer your donors to choose from multiple options, select the User can Choose option, and select the recurring intervals you would like to allow on the page
If the User can Choose option is selected, select a Default Recurring Interval from the dropdown
Select an option from the Recurring Payments dropdown
When Unlimited Payments is selected, recurring donations will continue to run until the donor requests to stop their recurring donation
When Fixed Number of Payments is selected, a recurring donation will process a fixed number of donations that you set, and then will stop running
When User can Choose is selected, donors can choose between setting up a recurring donation with unlimited payments, or a recurring donation with a fixed number of payments that you offer to your donors
Click Done
Click Save Now in the upper-right corner of your page to save your changes. Click Publish to publish these changes to your live page
Pro Tip: Users cannot re-active a recurring donation that has already processed the set number of donations that a donor selected to give. If a donor originally chose to donate a set number of payments, the system will only process that set number of payments, and cannot be changed to unlimited later. To change these fixed donations to unlimited recurring donations later, we recommend creating a new recurring donation.
Enable Fund Tracking

Add Comments/Instructions
Comments / instructions allows your donors to add a note or additional information for your organization to know when processing the donation
To add this option, toggle the Comments / Instructions field to yes
Add a custom label if desired in the Comments Label field
Select Done
Ask Donors to Cover Processing Fees
To ask your donors to cover the processing fee, toggle the Ask Donors to Cover the Processing Fee button to Off.
Edit the fee, fee label, and tooltip text as desired
Select the Require Fee to On if you would like to require this fee, or select Enabled Fee by Default if you would like to mark this fee as optional but automatically add it to the donor's order unless they opt out
Click Done
Click Save Now in the upper-right corner of your page to save your changes. Click Publish to publish these changes to your live page

When Someone Opts to Start their Recurring Donation at a Future Date, How does GivingFuel save the Donation?
When someone chooses to start their recurring donation at a future date, GivingFuel will initially create a one-time $0 donation. This is done to store the contact and the recurring donation in our system without charging the donor. On the date the donor selects, GivingFuel will process the first recurring donation.
