Admin Use Only fields are a great way to show specific operations or fields in your page only to admins and not to donors. This is done by entering a password into your page that will reveal those options.

For example, you may want to reveal a hidden notes field where you can leave notes about the donation or donor so you can reference the specific context later.

Jump To...

Add an Admin Use Only Field

  • Go to the Pages tab from the top main menu, and click View All Pages

  • Click the pencil icon under the page you want to edit

  • Hover over your page, and click the green + icon

  • Select the Text Field option

  • Label the field Admin Use Only

  • Toggle the Required option to Off

  • Click Done to save the field

  • Go to the Actions tab

  • Click Create Your First Action, or click the + icon if you already have actions on your page

  • On the left-hand side, find and select the Admin Use Only field as the trigger

  • In the next box, select Value is Exactly

  • Add a Password of your choice in the text box that appears

  • On the right-hand side, find and select Show

  • Choose the Field or Function that you would like to show when this password is entered

  • Click Save Action

  • Click Save Now in the upper-right corner of your page to save your changes. Click Publish to publish these changes to your live page

Pro Tip: Actions automatically assume the opposite is true. When a Show action is used, it will know to hide the field unless that specific value is entered.

Use An Admin Use Only Field

When Admin use Only fields are set up, individuals can only use a specific field or function upon entering the correct password.

FAQs

Is the password case-sensitive?

No, passwords are not case sensitive. But the password is space-sensitive. If you set up the password to be one word, typing it as two wouldn't work.

How will this pull into my exports?

The hidden fields will be populated with data when used, and empty when not used.
