If you only want to enable certain donors to access your GivingFuel page, password protecting the page is a great way to do so. This can sometimes be necessary when you are fundraising for sensitive initiatives or have missionaries in sensitive parts of the world.

Jump To...

Enable Restrict Access

  • Go to the Pages tab from the top main menu, and click View All Pages

  • Click the pencil icon under the page you want to edit

  • Hover the mouse over the Settings tab, and select Restrict Access

  • Toggle the Restrict Access to Your Page button to Yes (it should turn green)

Set your password and Message

  • Choose the Password Protect Your Page option

  • Enter your desired password into the Password field

  • If desired, include a custom message that will display on your page when potential donors land on your page while it is restricted.

NOTE: The password field is case sensitive and can have letters, numbers, symbols and spaces

Preview the Donor Experience

  • Donors who arrive on your page while it is password protected will see Registration requires a password and your custom message below with a box where they can enter their password and click Submit. If the password is entered correctly, they will be granted instant access to the page

  • If they enter a wrong password to access your page, they will be given the error message of, Oops... The password you entered is incorrect

FAQs

My page is password protected. Why can't I see the password protection screen when previewing my page?

The Password protection or Restrict Access to a page is unable to be viewed in Preview Mode. It will only show and restrict access on a live published page.
