FAQs

Will Switching the Payment Processor Disrupt My Page?

No, switching the payment processor won't disrupt your page or your donors' experience. When you hit publish, it will seamlessly update the live page. You won't see any interruption in processing due to this change as long as your new processor is properly verified.

What Will Happen to My Recurring Donations When I Switch to a New Payment Processor?

Any recurring donations that previously took place on the old processor will begin to process on the new processor once the switch is made. These recurring donations should process as expected as long as the two payment processors have similar requirements within your payment processor accounts.

Why Am I Receiving the Error "Failed to Add Payment Method?"

You are likely receiving this error because your page is already connected to a credit card processor or an ACH processor. GivingFuel only allows users to add 1 credit card processor, and 1 ACH processor. To add the new processor, we recommend first deleting your credit card or ACH processor, and then adding the new processor to the page.

How Many Payment Processors Can be Attached to 1 GivingFuel Page?

A GivingFuel page can be connected to 1 credit card processor, and 1 ACH processor. If your organization would like to add more than one payment processor, we recommend creating multiple GivingFuel pages, and adding a different payment processor to each of these pages.

If I delete a payment processor from a page, can I still issue refunds for past donations?

Yes, you can still issue refunds for past donations if a payment processor is deleted from the page. Our system will issue these refunds through the former processor.

What happens to the old payment processor when we switch payment processors on a page?

The processor will remain in your account unless it is deleted from your account. If your organization deletes the processor from the account, this will remove the processor from your linked processor options (it will not delete the processor's existence entirely). We don't recommend deleting a payment processor from your GivingFuel account once you have accepted donations, as this will prevent your organization from issuing refunds in GivingFuel through this processor.
